Amal Clooney Nailed Bridal Style With a White Rhinestone-Netted Gown on the Red Carpet

George, of course, was there as her groom.

Amal Clooney and her husband George looked ready for a walk down the aisle (rather than the red carpet) at last night's second annual Albie Awards in New York City. The couple — who coincidentally celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary a day earlier — attended the event, held by the Clooney Foundation For Justice, in looks that could've easily been worn on their actual wedding day.

For the formal occasion, Amal effortlessly shimmered in a custom white Versace gown that was subtly swathed in microscopic rhinestones. Her floor-length dress featured spaghetti straps that doubled in the back, as well as an elegant train. Like a true bride, she accessorized with a white satin clutch and diamond jewelry — including long drop earrings, a bracelet, and several rings. All that was missing from her bridal-inspired look was an updo. And instead, Clooney wore her brunette hair down in loose waves with a side part.

George, meanwhile, dressed like a groom in a classic black tuxedo and dress shoes.

At the event, George gushed about his wife while speaking with Entertainment Tonight. "She inspires me in everything she does," he said, adding, "And by the way, yesterday was our 9th anniversary!"

For her part, Amal kept the conversation focused on the gala, which honors courageous defenders of justice like herself. "Well, we're really happy. This is our second Albies," the human rights lawyer shared. "We hope to do it every year and it's really an honor to be able to put on a stage tonight five amazing people. Many of whom we worked with in Ukraine and Congo and Syria, and places that still, you know, sometimes seem to be forgotten."
