I’m pretty strict when it comes to my body care routine, but I take things up a few notches during the winter. My skin is more prone to dryness and flaking if I’m not stacking my moisturizers and lotions. I start by substituting my lighter lotions for a thicker body lotion or cream and finish with body oil. But I really double down when it comes to my shower routine. First, I start with a hydrating body cleanser, and then I follow it up with Avéne’s Gentle Body Scrub, which exfoliates dead skin while nourishing and hydrating it all at once.
The gel body scrub comes in a squeeze bottle for easy dispensing and features non-abrasive cellulose and jojoba wax beads that exfoliate and restore radiance to the skin. It’s also formulated with shea oil, which softens and hydrates skin. Safflower oil reduces the signs of aging, is full of antioxidants to repair the skin barrier, and brightens hyperpigmentation. And Avéne’s signature spring thermal water that soothes irritated skin. The scrub is great for all skin types and is recommended for use 1-2 times a week.
Avéne Gentle Body Scrub
After one use of this body scrub, I was hooked. The scent is lightly aromatic and has hints of rose, jasmine, and bergamot, making the shower experience much more luxurious. It comes out with a light gel-like texture and feels like it would get foamy, but to my surprise, it doesn’t double as a soap. A little goes a long way, and the beads aren’t abrasive, so my skin doesn’t feel sensitive after use. I’ve even used the scrub in place of my shaving cream — and it was the softest my legs have ever felt after a shave. After I rinse and dry off, my skin is smooth and feels like I just put lotion on. I put it to the test and went to bed without using lotion just to see how moisturizing it was, and I woke up with my skin looking radiant and feeling baby-soft.
My only qualm with this product is that it’s only recommended to be used once or twice a week, and I want to use it daily. That’s how much of a game-changer it's been in my winter shower routine. I even let my mom test it out because she thought I was exaggerating, and she was in awe of how impactful just one use was on her skin. Now I find her sneaking a squeeze when I leave it in the shower. This is why I plan on stocking up on a few more bottles of Avéne’s Gentle Body Scrub since it’s readily available on Amazon.
