Mother Monster. Joanne. Tony Bennet's partner in crime. Metallica's own metal maestra. Lady Gaga has made the Grammy Awards stage her own personal playground and offered up some of the most outrageous fashion moments, ever, each and every time she arrives on the carpet or performs. Ever since she splashed on the scene back in 2010, when she arrived with yellow hair (which she's called "piss yellow") looking like a literal galaxy and that one time she arrived in an egg to be "born" on the stage, each and every time the Recording Academy announces that Gaga will grace us with her presence, fans know that they'll be getting a bonafide moment. Whether she's going for old-school glam, championing her pals in the fashion world, or announcing a new era, there's no telling what she'll serve when she steps out.

Here's everything Lady Gaga has worn to the biggest night in music, from her showstopping, scene-stealing red carpet looks to her mic-crop moments on stage — and even an after-party or two.

Fresh off her debut album, Lady Gaga arrived wearing a celestial Armani Privé gown. She performed a medley that night, which included "Poker Face," "Speechless," and "Your Song" alongside Elton John. She was nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year and won for Best Dance Recording and Best Electronic/Dance Album.

For her performance, Gaga was still deep in her Fame Monster era, which explains the "Poker Face" face appliqués, the rhinestone everything, and the platinum-blonde hair. Elton John's cameo was an unexpected — but wholly welcome — surprise.

Not one to concern herself with things like comfort or the sight lines of her fellow attendees, Gaga wore this over-the-top getup while she watched the show.

For Gaga, there's no such thing as a sophomore slump. She arrived at the 2011 Grammys in an egg, carried by an entire army of glistening men and a coterie of extraterrestrial maidens. She "hatched" out of it during her performance and continued in her face-prosthetics era, with strange, otherworldly protrusions coming from her cheekbones and forehead.

After a three-year drought, Gaga returned to the Grammys to perform alongside Tony Bennett. While it's more toned-down that her previous looks, it was in keeping with her more jazz-inflected looks that came with performances and events around the album Cheek to Cheek.

Gaga enlisted Marc Jacobs for this red carpet look, which was an homage to David Bowie — just in case you didn't realize what the red hair was about. She paired red platform shoes with the blazer dress.

Another year, another Armani Privé look. Gaga went a full 180 from her heavy metal transformation the year before. The gown was so long that an assistant came along to arrange her train for red carpet photos.

When she performed "Joanne," Gaga played a feathered piano with Mark Ronson to back her up. The song and album of the same name were dedicated to her aunt Joanne, who passed away from lupus.

For her performance — a medley of jazz standards to honor her pal Tony Bennett — Gaga wore a Tiffany-blue high-low gown with a huge bow on the back. The duo took home the Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album that night before the show began.
