Grier Hammond Henchy loves to support her mother Brooke Shields on the red carpet. During their most recent event together, the young model showed her admiration for her mom in a whole new way. On Sunday, the mother-daughter duo attended the CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute event, and Grier borrowed one of her mom's archival pieces for the event.
Henchy walked the carpet alongside Shields and posed in a black silk strapless Richard Tyler gown with midsection boning and an A-line skirt. She styled the elegant frock with black pointed-toe pumps, gold hoops earrings, and several coordinating rings.
If you think the dress looked familiar, you're not imagining it. Not only is Henchy following in Shields's footsteps with her modeling career, but she has also inherited her mother's fashion sense. Shields actually wore this same black gown back in 2006 at the 17th annual Carousel of Hope Ball. At the time, Shields styled the look with a bedazzled cuff bracelet and black drop earrings. Her hair was styled in an updo with a super deep side part and a face-framing tuft.
During Sunday's soirée, Shields coordinated with her daughter (and her old gown) by wearing a black textured and shimmery tailored dress with spaghetti straps, which she accessorized with a tennis bracelet, hoop earrings, pendant necklace, and diamond rings.
This isn't the first time Grier has gone digging through her mom's closet. Earlier this year, the 17-year-old wore her mom's vintage Badgley Mischka gown to her mother's opening night at the Café Carlyle. Grier's older sister, Rowan Francis Henchy, has also been known to borrow their mom's clothes. Rowan wore Shields's 1998 Golden Globes dress to her 2021 prom, which Brooke documented on Instagram.
"I thought it was a special night when I was nominated for a Golden Globe and wore this dress in 1998, but nothing could have prepared me to see my daughter wearing it to her prom ❤️," she captioned the post. "proud mama!"
