Who Is Skepta, Adele's Reported Boyfriend?

While Lady Gaga trolls Adele and the entire world waits for her latest album to drop, Adele is making headlines for possibly, maybe having a new boyfriend, Skepta. According to The Sun, Adele and her alleged new beau have been seeing each other since their respective breakups. Adele separated from her husband, Simon Konecki, back in April 2019, so this new relationship has had plenty of time to develop.

"They run in the same circles in London, and she's having fun," a source told People.

Skepta, who?

Skepta, real name Joseph Junior Adenuga Jr., is a "grime" star from Tottenham, which is also where Adele is from. Grime is a blend of electronic dance and hip-hop music. Skepta co-founded Boy Better Know, a music collective and record label.

After hosting Saturday Night Live, Adele posted to Instagram and noted that she's "single," even though sources seemed to think otherwise.

"I'm going back to my cave now to be the (single) cat lady that I am! Peace out til next year," she wrote.

How long have they known each other?

According to their pals, they were in contact even before their breakups. In 2016, Adele tweeted a photo of Skepta, captioning it "Tottenham Boy."

"Adele and Skepta have been there for each other a lot after both their relationships split up. They have a close bond and there's definitely a special connection," a source told The Sun. "They're spending more and more time together. Some of their friends are hoping and predicting they could end up being a great couple one day."

Skepta was last linked to supermodel Naomi Campbell.

They've both got kids.

Adele has a 7-year-old son, Angelo. Skepta has a daughter, River, who was born in 2018.

"They are both private about their love lives and they are both committed to their children first and foremost as well," The Sun's source added.

What have they been up to?

Adele celebrated Skepta's 37th birthday at a place called the Crystal Maze in London. The two are in constant contact, but that's not new. In an interview dating back to 2016, Skepta explained that they communicated via text and kept each other up-to-date on their daily activities.

"Adele texts me all the time and keeps me in check," he said. "She speaks to me about how things are going."

But what about new music?

Adele fans have been hoping for new music since her last album dropped in 2015. With rumors of new material coming out soon, the link to Skepta has some listeners hoping for a new sound. Adele herself offered up a cheeky hint to her new music, writing, "30 will be a drum n bass record to spite you," on Instagram.
