Britney Spears is giving further insight into how she feels about the documentaries about her life and conservatorship.
On Monday, Spears shared a video of herself dancing on Instagram, writing in the caption, "So many documentaries about me this year with other people's takes on my life ... what can I say … I'm deeply flattered."
She went on to say, "These documentaries are so hypocritical … they criticize the media and then do the same thing."
"Damn … I don't know y'all but I'm thrilled to remind you all that although I've had some pretty tough times in my life ... I've had waaaayyyy more amazing times in my life and unfortunately my friends … I think the world is more interested in the negative," she wrote.
Earlier this year, Spears's conservatorship battle and her fans' #FreeBritney movement came into renewed light after the Hulu documentary, Framing Britney Spears. Over the weekend, the BBC aired the documentary The Battle for Britney: Fans, Cash and a Conservatorship, which Spears appeared to address directly in her post. The documentary featured makeup artist Billy Brasfield, who claimed to be in contact with Spears. "I don't actually talk to Billy B AT ALL so I'm honestly very confused," she wrote.
The pop star previously spoke out about Framing Britney Spears, writing that although she didn't watch the full documentary, "what I did see of it I was embarrassed by the light they put me in."
In June, Spears is set to make a rare address to a Los Angeles court over her conservatorship. She is petitioning to have her father, Jamie Spears, removed entirely from its management.
"My client has informed me that she is afraid of her father," her lawyer Samuel Ingham III has said. "She will not perform again if her father is in charge of her career."
