Mad Max: Fury Road's Furiosa had Charlize Theron embracing a buzz, but for Netflix's School for Good and Evil, she's going in a whole different direction.
In her latest Instagram post, she shared a pair of behind-the-scenes snapshots showing a big, curly red wig that's just about as far as she can get from her signature sleek blonde crop.
Though Theron's shots don't offer up a clear look at her character, Lady Lesso, the bright red hair is stealing the spotlight. In the first image, she's obscuring her face with a mirror and in the second, there's a peek at a white collared shirt and a blurry look at her brushed-out red hair. Her caption offered some insight to the role, noting that she's playing someone evil.
"Ain't no rest for the EVIL," she wrote. "Can't wait for you all to meet Lady Lesso #SchoolForGoodAndEvil @netflixfilm."
Adapted from the book series by Soman Chainani, Deadline reports that Laurence Fishburn, Michelle Yeoh, and Kerry Washington are joining Theron for the series, which is currently filming in Northern Ireland and set to hit Netflix in 2022.
"Set in the fictional location of the Endless Woods, the novel follows best friends Sophie and Agatha at the titular School for Good and Evil," Collider explains. "The institution helps to train lost children to become fairytale heroes or villains."
Those best friends are being played by new faces Sofia Wyle and Sophia Anne Caruso, who fans may recognize from Broadway's Beetlejuice musical and Disney+'s series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
