Zendaya is two inches taller than her boyfriend Tom Holland — and that's when she's not wearing heels. And while the couple doesn't mind the difference in height, it does sometimes cause complications when working together on the set of their new Spider-Man movie.
In an interview on The Graham Norton Show this week, Zendaya and Holland hilariously addressed (and reenacted) one stunt that was particularly problematic to shoot due to the actress's super long legs. "There's a particular stunt where Spider-Man swings us on top of a bridge, and he places me there. He's supposed to gently rest MJ on the bridge and walk away from her. Because of our height difference… we were attached, so I would land before him," Zendaya said, extending her legs to emphasize her point. "My feet obviously hit the ground before he does."
Zendaya giggled and urged Tom to tell the rest of the story. "So Zendaya would land," he added. "And I'm the superhero, I'm supposed to look cool. And I would land and my feet would swing from underneath me and then she would catch me." Demonstrating this to be the case, the pair sat up and recreated the scene with Holland resting his leg on Zendaya's arm.
"It's so nice to be caught for a change," Holland joked.
Holland has no problem poking fun at his 5-foot-8 height today, but it used to be a major insecurity of his when he was younger. "I'd do this thing on red carpets where I would stand closer to the photographers than the people behind me," he said during an interview for GQ's Men of the Year issue. "I cannot do anything about my height," he added. "I can put on more muscle."
