It turns out that Posh Spice may not have always been so posh, after all — well, at least that’s what Victoria Beckham wanted us to think before her husband David Beckham set the record straight in the most hilarious way.
While the pair’s new Netflix docu-series, Beckham, may contain more than its fair share of bombshells, it was a relatable couple’s moment between the husband-and-wife duo that has truly taken the internet by storm. In the clip, Victoria is shown telling the interviewer about her experience growing up in a “very working-class” family during a confessional before David pops his head in to encourage her to “be honest.”
After a bit of back and forth where Victoria insists that she is, in fact, being honest, David counters with the question, “What car did your dad drive you to school in?”
“My dad … It's not a simple answer! It depends!" the designer replied as her husband continued to restate the question.
Eventually, Victoria gives in and explains, “OK, in the '80s my dad had a Rolls-Royce,” prompting David to reply, “Thank you,” before quickly closing the door and leaving.
Although the relatable moment served as a prime example of David and Victoria’s lighthearted relationship today, the couple also wasn’t afraid to detail the many hardships they’ve been through over the years.
At one point during the series, the former Spice Girl opened up about David’s 2004 cheating scandal for the first time, calling it the “hardest period” of their marriage.
“It was the hardest period because it felt like the world was against us," Victoria shared. "Here's the thing — we were against each other if I'm being completely honest … I can't even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me. It was an absolute circus — it's really entertaining when the circus comes to town, right? Unless you're in it.”
