Jennifer Lopez Wore the Newest Iteration of a Power Suit With a Sparkly Cropped Vest

Jennifer Lopez's style is anything but traditional, between wearing jackets as dresses and string bikinis as tops. But, Lopez's ability to pull off controversial style statements is what makes the multi-hyphenate a fashion icon in the first place. So, it's not surprising in the least that Lopez's take on workwear included a maxiskirt and a crop top.

On Thursday night, J.Lo (along with half of Hollywood) attended the ‘Una Serata Italiana’ (which means 'an Italian evening') dinner party hosted by fashion designer Brunello Cucinelli and his family at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. For the lavish event, Lopez wore this year's hottest iteration of a power suit: a white oversized blazer and a matching floor-skimming maxiskirt. A plunging sparkly charcoal-colored cropped vest peeked out from under the jacket (another fun play on business professional), and Lopez accessorized with a shimmery layered choker, a matching bangle, and small hoop earrings.

In terms of glam, Lopez pulled her caramel hair into a Pamela Anderson-inspired updo with face-framing curls, and she finished the look with a bronzy complexion, feathered lashes, and a '90s-inspired lip to complement her throwback hair.

At one point, Lopez was spotted talking with Cucinelli, and upon arriving, she was photographed outside of the venue, sans blazer. While Lopez's husband Ben Affleck was not seen in photos, he did accompany the star, according to a press release.

The dinner was meant to show appreciation for the Los Angeles community and had a star-studded guest list that included Oprah Winfrey, Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk, Demi Moore, James Marsden, Chris Pine, Jon Hamm, Jeremy Allen White, Henry Golding, Ava DuVernay, Kathryn Hahn, Rashida Jones, Quinta Brunson, January Jones, Jay Ellis, Ashley Park, Mandy Moore, Ava Phillippe, Madelaine Petsch, Jasmine Tookes, and more.
