Another Hollywood couple is calling it quits after what seemed to be the summer of separation. People reports that Jodie Turner-Smith filed for divorce from her husband, Joshua Jackson, in Los Angeles Superior Court. The couple was married for over three years and share a daughter together. Neither Turner-Smith nor Jackson have released an official statement on their separation. It was the first marriage for both actors.
The two were one of the most beloved couples in entertainment, thanks to Turner-Smith saying that her love for Jackson started way back during his time on Dawson's Creek. The two met for the first time at Usher's 40th birthday party, back in 2018.
"When I first met my husband, we had a one-night stand," the actress revealed on Late Night with Seth Meyers during an appearance in 2021. "We're in a two, three-year one-night stand now."
In Aug. 2019, rumors began to circulate about Jackson and Turner-Smith's upcoming wedding after news broke that they appeared to pick up a marriage license in Beverly Hills. They would eventually make things official with a ceremony in Dec. 2019.
"I think it's really beautiful to be with someone who is so supportive and so loving," she told People in 2021. "We're so similar in so many ways. We're like mirrors for each other. And I just really love that human being."
Turner-Smith opened up about their relationship to Forbes in 2022, saying that she wanted to marry Jackson because of "how loved and supported I felt by him" in the early years of their relationship.
"I had never been with anyone who I thought was wanting to lift me up the way that I felt that he was lifting me up," she said. "That is one of my favorite things about him."
