Usher is headlining the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
On Sunday, Apple Music, who is a sponsor of the big game, confirmed that the singer will perform at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada on February 11, 2024. But rather than announce the news with a traditional statement, the streaming service produced a short video, featuring none other than Kim Kardashian.
In the clip, Kim — who has gone to see Grammy-winner perform twice already in Las Vegas — calls a younger Usher to tell him that he will be heading the halftime show. "I finally got an answer to those rumors. It's not about me, it's about you," Kim says, before exclaiming: "You're doing the Super Bowl!"
The NFL also confirmed the news with a similar video, starring former Super Bowl champion Deion Sanders. "USHER. LAS VEGAS. APPLE MUSIC HALFTIME SHOW. #SBLVIII," the football league tweeted. "See you on February 11."
Usher has previously made an appearance onstage at the Super Bowl alongside the Black Eyed Peas in 2011, but this will be his first time headlining the show. “It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list,” Usher said in a statement, according to Billboard. “I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before. Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”
Super Bowl LVIII will air live on CBS on Feb. 11, 2024.
