Last night, Meghan Markle ditched her beiges and post-Labor Day whites for a bold dose of color at the 2023 Invictus Games' closing ceremony.
For the occasion, the Duchess of Sussex, who has been on a monochromatic streak for the past several days, attended the tournament's final event alongside her husband, Prince Harry, wearing a peacock-blue dress by Cult Gaia. The midi-length dress featured a column silhouette and a strapless neckline, as well as an all-over floral lace pattern with tasteful peek-a-boo cutouts on the skirt. Meghan accessorized the look minimally, adding just a pair of tiny diamond hoop earrings, a gold Cartier bracelet, and the nude Aquazzura pointed-toe pumps she had on earlier in the day.
She scraped her brunette hair back into a sleek bun with a center part, and combined peachy-pink lip gloss with dewy skin and smoky eyeshadow.
As the ceremony came to an end, Harry delivered a short but impactful speech, telling the games' competitors, who are comprised of injured or sick servicemen and women, that they have inspired people around the world with their participation.
“We’ve all witnessed the true impact sport has had on your recovery,” he said. “But you will never truly know the impact your actions this week have had on millions of people around the world. You have opened people’s hearts through your vulnerability, through your resilience, and your sheer abilities. You have shown us that joy can emerge from struggle.”
