After a long hiatus from the red carpet, Meghan Markle returned to the spotlight at the 2023 Variety’s Power of Women gala in Los Angeles on Thursday night — and her outfit alone was worth the wait.
For the star-studded occasion, Meghan embraced stealth-wealth style in a nude gown from Proenza Schouler's Resort 2024 collection. Despite the dress's neutral color, it was anything but boring — not only did it feature a sultry one-shoulder silhouette, but it also included a floor-length skirt with multiple slits up the sides and in the front while revealing a reverse white lining. Peeking out from beneath her gown were a pair of black slingback Aquazzura pumps, and in one hand, she carried a coordinating black leather clutch.
Meghan pulled her dark hair back into a sleek, middle-parted bun, which showed off a pair of tiny gold hoops below, and she finished off her glam with a no-makeup makeup look, adding a nude lip and a bronzy contour.
On the red carpet, Meghan spoke with reporters about how she's been staying busy with her new role as a producer, developing more TV and film projects with Netflix via her and Prince Harry's film company Archewell Productions. “We have so many exciting things on the slate,” she said of the couple's current projects. “I can’t wait until we can announce them, but I’m just really proud of what we’re creating. My husband is loving it, too. It’s really fun.”
While Meghan was honored at last year's Power of Women event, this year, the honorees included Billie Eilish, Carey Mulligan, Fantasia Barrino, and Lily Gladstone. Meanwhile, LuckyChap co-founders Margot Robbie, her husband, Tom Ackerley, and Josey McNamara were being awarded with the Producer of the Year award.
