If the Grammy Awards in previous years are any indicator, the 2014 show on Sunday is sure to bring out the riskiest red carpet looks of the season, and of course, no avant garde ensemble is complete without a statement-making manicure! Ever since the the nail art trend re-emerged a few years ago, we've seen just about everything from rhinestone-studded talons to 24-karat gold lacquer, with the most luxurious options reserved for music's biggest night.

In 2010, Rihanna was among the first few celebrities to hit the Grammys in lengthy talons and intricate nail art, while Adele matched her nails to her Christian Louboutin heels in 2012, even painting the underside of each digit to mirror the iconic red bottoms. Miranda Lambert even got in on the fun last year when she went for a new-school half moon pattern, painting a deep navy pyramid onto a nude base.

To kick off the pre-Grammy festivities on a stylish note, we rounded up even more creative manicures spotted at the show in previous years, including close-up shots so you can try your hand at a star-inspired look. See the most outrageous Grammy nails in our gallery now!
