The film isn't due to be released until July 2017, but Cara Delevingne has already posted the first official image from her upcoming sci-fi adventure movie Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. The model turned actress took to Instagram to share a shot of herself and co-stars Dane DeHaan and Clive Owen in full space regalia.
Like the iconic '60s sci-fi action movie Barbarella that launched Jane Fonda to stardom (and also inspired an Ariana Grande video), Valerian is based on a French graphic novel. Delevingne plays Laureline, a time-traveling agent sent to a galactic empire on a mission to protect the space-time continuum. "We have officially landed," the star wrote in the caption of her post.

Director Luc Besson has also cast Delevingne's fellow fashion icon Rihanna in a smaller role so the battle for red carpet dominance may be as exciting as anything set in outer space.
Delevingne began her acting career in British indies (like The Face of an Angel) but had a commercial success last year with her first starring role in Paper Towns, an adaptation of John Green's YA novel. And this year she has a multitude of films hitting theaters. Two are adaptations of literary novels: London Fields (in which she appears along with Amber Heard) and Tulip Fever (where she co-stars with DeHaan once again, as well as with Alicia Vikander). And, of course, she's playing The Enchantress the star-studded supervillain movie Suicide Squad. Delevingne's stellar modeling career may soon be seen as just a footnote to her acting career.
