Charlize Theron Didn't Know What Her Red Hot Oscars Dress Looked Like Until a Week Ago

While some actresses like to indulge in the endless fashion options that arise from attending the Oscars, Mad Max: Fury Road star Charlize Theron gave her stylist Leslie Fremar total control on her Dior gown this year. "Charlize was crazy filming in Berlin, and she was like, 'Honestly, I trust you and I'm really busy,'" recalls Fremar. "I showed up last week with her dress, and that was the first time she even saw it."

Theron had never worn red to a major awards event before, and was a little surprised by her stylist's color choice. "All she could say was 'Really?'," she laughs. Still, that didn't stop the actress from looking like a total knockout on the red carpet. "I thought red could be really sexy and feminine," says Fremar. "It's a really trusting process, and a collaboration between the two of us, so she got it."

Fremar complemented the look with a plunging diamond-encrusted Harry Winston necklace that matched her gown. "It fell in the perfect place," she says. "We pulled her hair all up too, so you could the length of her neck and she how statuesque she is. I can't take credit because I didn't give birth to her, but she looks amazing."
