If you thought John Krasinski couldn’t get any cuter, you were wrong.
The doting dad talked about 2-year-old daughter Hazel (with wife Emily Blunt) at Sundance TV and The Hollywood Reporter’s Indie Actors panel at the Sundance Film Festival on Saturday. There to support his films The Hollars, which he directed and also stars in, and Manchester by the Sea, which he is a co-producer, Krasinski mused on letting Hazel in on the Hollywood career track her parents are both on.
“She’s two so we talked about it yesterday. It was a really intense conversation; she had a lot of good points," Krasinski first joked. But all kidding aside, the dad then voiced his unconditional support. “I definitely feel like this is a tough business for sure. I know I won the lottery. I was a waiter before I got The Office and after the pilot, I went back to waiting tables. Because I just thought, this will never be real, and it’s still not. I think it’s all about supporting what she wants to do,” he said.
Making sure Hazel stays grounded seems to be a top priority though. “If she understands what it is she wants and why she wants it then that’s great," he said. "But if she wants it for reasons that don’t really feel like she has a connection to reality then that’s sort of when I veer away.”
We won’t hold our breath for a fame-seeking reality show from the Krasinski family anytime soon but we wouldn’t mind seeing little Hazel grow up to be just like dear old dad.
