Brace yourselves, it's Ryan Gosling's birthday! The handsome Canadian actor turns 35 today, and what better excuse to look back at his evolution from Mouseketeer to Hollywood heartthrob.
The 35-year-old got his start on the small screen, appearing on The Mickey Mouse Club alongside fellow stars, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera, and catapulted into the hearts of many as Noah in 2004's The Notebook, opposite Rachel McAdams.
What came next were roles in critically acclaimed films including Half Nelson, Lars and the Real Girl, and Blue Valentine—not to mention Crazy, Stupid, Love, in which Emma Stone gave Gosling's famous abs the praise they deserve, exclaiming, "Seriously, it's like you're Photoshopped!" (gawk at them here). This packed filmography garnered the actor Oscar and Golden Globe nominations as well as a legion of devoted fans.
What's more, Gosling debuted his directorial talents in 2014 with the film, Lost River, at the Cannes Film Festival, and he is currently filming a new romance musical, La La Land, opposite of Stone again.
Aside from all of that, Gosling is a father to 1-year-old daughter, Esmeralda Amada, with longtime girlfriend Eva Mendes. We can only assume he is as doting a father as he is a talented actor. Celebrate his big day with a look at Ryan Gosling's transformation into one of Hollywood's most handsome leading men.
