It's not a competition, but if it were, Selena Gomez would've been among the best-dressed list at this year's MTV VMAs, which took place at the Prudential Center in Jersey on Tuesday. The multi-hyphenate followed up her stunning red floral show gown with an equally fabulous mini for her after-party look.
Gomez was photographed leaving the VMAs After-Party (hosted by Global Icon Award-recipient himself, Diddy) in a deep purple (fitting for pop royalty) corseted satin minidress that was strapless. Designed by Undone, it also featured a plunging bustier-style neckline. She styled the dress (along with the help of her stylist Erin Walsh) with black pointy-toe pumps and an oversized leather moto jacket. A sparkly fringe handbag, dainty gold choker, and matching hoop earrings completed the look. Gomez's long hair was worn pin straight with a middle part, and her glam included a mauve eye and lip.
Just hours before, the superstar arrived on the VMAs pink carpet in a red-hot Oscar de la Renta gown that was comprised of intricate floral beading and appliqués the skirt of the dress was fringed into individual vines of flowers and also had a thigh-high leg slit.
During the show, Selena and her collaborator Rema took home the award for Best Afrobeats for their smash hit song “Calm Down." In her acceptance speech, Gomez thanked Rema for including her on his track, and her BFF Taylor Swift could not contain her excitement for her pal's win (which was caught on camera).
"Thank you, Rema, for believing in me, and thank you for choosing me to be a part of such an incredible song that's been able to break records," she said. "Thank you to all of you for listening and streaming — I could not be more honored. And I want to send all my love to Nigeria."
