Since breaking the news on July 18 that she and her husband, Joe Manganiello, were calling it quits after seven years of marriage, Sofia Vergara has — understandably so — been handling a few new things in her life. In a new interview, she explained that between all the chaos swirling around her and her hosting gig on America's Got Talent, her life has been "entertaining and interesting."
"A lot of changes, a lot of good and craziness, and bad things happen and good things happen,” she told Entertainment Tonight of the things she's experiencing at the moment. “You know, what makes life so entertaining and interesting."
She added that she's actually very much looking forward to what's ahead for her, because so far, things have been great, divorce and all. She was optimistic that whatever's ahead, like the upcoming release of her Netflix series, Griselda, will only bring positivity and joy.
"I can't complain. I've had a great, great time,” she added. “There's always time for more good stuff coming."
When asked what's next, she said, "I mean, my 50s!" Vergara turned 51 earlier in the summer and seems ready to take on anything and everything.
Vergara and Manganiello announced their divorce via a joint statement.
"We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the announcement read, which was published first by Page Six. “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect for our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
Manganiello filed for divorce two days later, citing "irreconcilable differences."
A source told People that Vergara was in a good place after the separation and that she felt "fortunate" through it all.
"She is sad that her marriage didn’t work out, but she feels very fortunate anyway," the source said. "She has a great life that she loves. She is staying at her house for now. Joe is living elsewhere."
