Sophie Turner Filed to Dismiss Her "Wrongful Retention" Lawsuit Against Joe Jonas

After much tabloid fodder, custody battles, and a four-day mediation, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner appear to be on better terms and making progress in their divorce case. On Tuesday, Turner filed to dismiss the lawsuit against Jonas that claimed he "wrongfully retained" their two daughters, Willa and Delphine. According to Entertainment Tonight, a judge has signed off, which dismisses the suit and allows the divorce proceedings to move forward in Florida.

The newest update in the exes' ongoing divorce case comes after the two attended the aforementioned mediation in the fall where they reached a temporary custody agreement, stating that their daughters would spend time in both New York and in the U.K.

"After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the U.S. and the U.K.," Jonas and Sophie shared in a joint statement obtained by ET. "We look forward to being great co-parents."

Turner had sued Jonas after alleging that he withheld the girls's passports from Turner, which she called a "breach of the Mother's rights of custody under English law, England being the children's habitual residence." 

Joe initially filed for divorce back in September, shocking fans of the estranged couple. Today first confirmed the news after court documents were filed in Florida. Later, the two shared a joint statement on social media announcing the split.

"After four wonderful years of marriage we mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” the post read. “There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
