I spend my workday scouring Target for the best deals and the latest beauty and fashion launches, so you can imagine a large chunk of my wardrobe consists of pieces from the retailer. Let me just say its newly released spring styles are absolute perfection.
My most recent fashion haul at Target included transitional pieces that I can mix and match to wear with layers while it’s still cold and on their own as it gets warmer. I’m jumping feet first into making denim a major part of my wardrobe in more ways than just jeans. My latest shopping spree also included structured tops like corsets and vests, and I made sure that every clothing item I grabbed would work interchangeably with something else I purchased.
Keep scrolling to see everything I snagged, including a cargo mini skirt, a matching denim vest and maxi skirt, and a black corset top reminiscent of Taylor Swift’s recent Super Bowl outfit.

Wild Fable Parachute Cargo Mini Skirt
I’ve been obsessed with cargo pants since last spring, and I’m ready to keep the style going strong in my wardrobe into this upcoming season. This cargo mini skirt is unlike anything else in my closet, and the hemline is so flattering. I bought it in off-white, but I love how lightweight and comfortable the skirt is, so I may need to grab it in another color. It pairs perfectly with my basic long-sleeve and short-sleeve tees, and I can dress it up with a button-down or sweater and knee-high boots for winter. I actually can’t believe it was only $20.
Wild Fable Denim Corset Vest
I purchased this black structured yet comfy corset top well before the Super Bowl, and after seeing Taylor Swift’s game day OOTD, I’m even more confident it was a smart purchase. Other corset-style tops I’ve owned in the past were too constricting for my 36C bust and offered little to no stretch. This one is buttery-soft, and the adjustable shoulder straps give me the ability to get a custom fit that flatters my shape and feels comfortable.
Universal Thread Denim Vest
I’ve been looking for a denim vest for over a year now and haven’t been able to find one that accommodates my larger chest while still offering a flattering fit. When I saw that Universal Thread had a matching vest and skirt set that was offered in an inclusive size range — XS through 4X — I was confident that it would be the style I needed in my wardrobe. I am comfortable going braless while wearing it, but I can still wear a bra underneath if needed. It offers the structure I want but still has enough stretch for comfort.
Universal Thread Denim Maxi Skirt
To match the vest, I couldn’t pass up the denim maxi skirt for a cohesive look. This piece from Universal Thread is just as nice as the more expensive versions I own, and I love the front slit that shows off my favorite sneakers and boots. I’ve worn maxi skirts a lot this winter with slouchy sweaters, and since they offer more coverage than mini skirts, my legs stay warm even without a pair of tights underneath.
