Nobody does a hair transformation quite like Zendaya. Exhibit A? Her 2018 Met Gala auburn bob, a platinum pixie at the 2017 Fashion Awards, and her iconic 2017 afro with a sweet familial connection. On Monday morning, the queen of fashion presented exhibit B at the Schiaparelli Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2024 show in Paris: a sci-fi-esque 'do with face-framing strands and tiny micro-bangs.
Zendaya arrived at the star-studded runway show in a striking black gown that featured a lycra turtleneck top with 3D knotted black spikes that lined the sleeves and shoulders, a satin slitted pencil skirt, and a dramatic train that tied around her waist and jutted out, slightly resembling a horse tail. Black fishnet Calzedonia knee-high stockings and matching pointed-toe Christian Louboutin heels peeked out through the skirt's back leg slit.
The actress ditched jewelry altogether to allow the head-turning look to do the talking. However, it was her hair that really stole the show. Whether it was a wig or a new chop, Zendaya looked Spock-chic with a pin-straight style that included blunt micro-bangs and slightly darker strands that framed her face. The look has been coined the jellyfish cut and is predicted to be big in 2024.
Further proving that the entire look was other-worldly, Zendaya threw up the famed Star Trek salute while posing for flashing cameras. Not only did the look pay tribute to the beloved franchise, but it also gave a subtle nod to the actress's upcoming space film Dune: Part Two, which is slated to hit theaters on March 1 after the release was delayed by the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.
Zendaya was joined at the show by her longtime stylist and man behind the look, Law Roach. Other celebs in attendance included Zendaya's Euphoria co-star Hunter Schafer, Jennifer Lopez (who looked striking in a hair switch-up of her own), Karli Kloss, and Da'Vine Joy Randolph.
