My Mom and I Agree: This Classic White Sneaker Is Comfortable Right Out of the Box

The popular Adidas Samba sneakers have graced the feet of Hollywood celebrities like Emily Ratajkowski, Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, and Katie Holmes, but lately, another silhouette from the brand is also gaining traction — the Gazelle. 

Recently worn by Jennifer Lawrence and a go-to shoe for others like Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde, the Gazelles are drastically similar to the Samba style. As someone who owns both shoes, I can attest to their equally as comfortable design. In fact, they’re so supportive that my 60-year-old mom recently got a pair.

Adidas’ Gazelle Shoes originated in the ‘60s as a soccer trainer but have clearly stood the test of time with their classic silhouette that goes with just about any outfit. The sleek leather sneaker features the same signature side stripes as the Sambas, in addition to a full-grain leather upper and rubber outsole that is “comfortable right out of the box,” according to my mom. The sneakers are available in women’s sizes five through 15 and men’s four through 14, along with 19 different color combinations. 

I immediately recommended the Gazelle style when my mom told me she was in the market for a new white sneaker, and to say she’s thrilled with them would be an understatement.  According to my mom, the “lightweight and roomy” style is “so supportive” and “goes with everything.” And while I don’t own the white pair, she convinced me to add them to my wardrobe. The wear-with-anything sneakers are functional and comfortable, and they play well with more elevated looks in our wardrobes like dresses and skirts. 

I’ve walked in the shoes for hours on the streets of New York City without getting blisters or foot pain, a benefit that’s well-deserving of praise. Shoppers have also given the sneakers glowing reviews, with one person noting just how “comfortable” they are for their wide feet. Another customer echoed my mom’s feedback, mentioning that they “go with everything” and are a “real value” for the cost. A third person went as far as calling them their “dream shoes.”
