I have never been personally invested in fanfiction but you can’t argue with its results. The Fifty Shades of Grey franchise, which started as Twilight fan fiction, launched Dakota Johnson into superstardom. And now, we’re getting Anne Hathaway in The Idea of You, which may or may not be (but definitely is) based on Harry Styles fanfic. I’m satisfied either way, because we are getting another vehicle to enjoy Anne Hathaway’s much-deserved renaissance. The movie doesn’t premiere until May 2, but I had the chance to speak with Hathaway’s on-set makeup artist Nana Fischer who revealed some wonderful beauty insights. The one that stuck with me the most was the $20 Epicuren French Lavender After Bath Body Lotion she used on the actress.

“The Epicuren body lotion really deeply moisturizes the skin which was vital since we were shooting in the fall and winter. Her skin really needed the extra moisture,” Fischer said. “It gives the skin a nice dewy look… I had minis on me in the set bag to apply to arms and legs to make the skin look good.”

The super nourishing properties of this Epicuren product are partly due to its hybrid nature — it’s a traditional lotion fused with body oil. A scan through the formula also explains its efficacy — there’s the titular lavender oil, sesame seed oil, niacinamide, shea, jojoba, and half a dozen more humectant and emollient ingredients. It’s a lot of science-backed benefits to get into, but the need-to-know is that the ingredients in Epicuren’s body lotion are oil-soluble and thereby able to penetrate past surface layers of skin, boost ceramide production, reduce age spots, and plump skin.

One shopper said that their 90-year-old mother uses Epicuren’s French Lavender After Bath Body Lotion and that her “skin looks lovely.” Another shopper said it “works wonders for darker skin tones that show dryness easily.” They added, “it’s not greasy, moisturizes wonderfully, and has no residue.”

Fischer also mentioned that Saint Jane’s Hydrabloom Body Silk was an important body care asset. “It really firms and smoothes the appearance of skin,” which, of course,is important for our HD viewing.
