Ayo Edebiri has been killing it this awards season. She's winning basically everything and every look she serves is perfection. But, at the Golden Globes I was focused on her flawless complexion more than anything else. I needed to find out how her makeup stayed so pristine all night long and I found the answer: Benefit’s Porefessional Super Setter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray.
As a 5-feet 2-inches woman I know the importance of a good setting spray. When I hug someone taller than me (everyone) I have to be so careful to avoid making contact with their clothes. I have stained, or at least gotten makeup on, more pieces of clothing than I can count. I was, therefore, beyond thankful that Ayo Edebiri’s makeup artist, Dana Delaney shared the product breakdown with me.
Delaney began the process with the Porefessional Lite Ultra-Lightweight Face Primer and finished with the corresponding Porefessional Super Setting Spray. The makeup artist called it an “indispensable step,” and after doing some research I understand why.
The primary purpose of a setting spray is simply to make makeup last through the day. A better-than-average setting spray will do that and then some. Benefit’s superb offering blurs pores, manages oiliness, elongates the wear of makeup to 16 hours, and as evidenced by Edebiri and White’s interaction, is transfer-proof.
I was wondering if the setting spray worked so well on The Bear star because makeup artists have a magic and skillful touch, but thousands of shoppers indicate that it really is just that good.
One shopper said that their “makeup stayed put even in 90-degree summer heat and humidity.” Another said even after “crying a lot my makeup didn’t budge.”
