I’m all about a New Year's reset, which, as a fashion and beauty writer, I typically use as an excuse to shop. (New year, new… clothes, makeup, and skincare). And for better or worse, it’s an approach that is made all the more enticing thanks to a number of New Year sales happening this weekend. 

Right now, there are hundreds of sales happening across the internet — from Amazon to Nordstrom — but out of them all, there are only four standouts that I plan to shop.

Given that the brand’s cashmere rarely goes on sale, this Shrunken Crewneck Sweater was naturally the first thing I added to my cart. “[It’s a] soft, cozy, warm must-have,” said one customer, while another described the feel of the cashmere as “lovely” and the style and fit as “fabulous.”

Luxury beauty retailer Space NK’s under-the-radar sale is one you won’t want to miss, with up to 50 percent off high-end skincare, haircare, and makeup. Both Institut Esthederm’s Intensive Retinol Cream  and BeautyStat’s Universal C Eye Perfector — a brand that’s been praised by Hailey Bieber — are currently half-off. According to one shopper, the retinol moisture is “rich and creamy” with a “luxurious feel” and has managed to give them “a tighter complexion.” “My fine lines definitely appear less visible on my forehead,” they wrote. Someone else even claimed that they wake up with “perfect skin” after applying at at night.

You can also find discounts on ColorWow’s Root Cover Up, which has been used on celebrities including Rihanna and Kim Kardashian, as well as the Oribe Serene Scalp Oil Control Treatment Mist, which is formulated to reduce oiliness between washes. “[I] no longer need to use dry shampoo between washes [because this] absorbs oil and sweat from my hair,” raved one shopper about the oil-control mist, adding that it doesn’t leave “any residue or buildup” and “adds volume and texture” to their hair. And per one other fan, this spray effectively “soothed [their] itchy and dry scalp.”

Like fine wine, Reformation’s Biannual Sale gets better with time, because now items from the Jennifer Lopez-, Sarah Jessica Parker-, and Taylor Swift-worn brand are up to 70 percent off. The only downside to waiting? Stock is pretty limited. Luckily for you, I went through and managed to find a number of pieces that are well-stocked, seriously discounted, and, most importantly, ones you’ll want in your closet. Discounted styles include this simple but elegant dress that features a flattering mermaid silhouette, as well as this timeless knit skirt.

And in terms of tops you can wear year round, I’m pretty obsessed with the brand’s super sleek Samara Satin Shirt (say that five times fast) as well as the Ran Cotton Sweater Tank, which will look just as perfect under a blazer now and as it will on its own this summer.
