I'm Budgeting $350 to Spend at Nordstrom's Half-Yearly Sale, and My Picks Start at Just $20

Christmas has come and gone, and while much of my focus has been on spoiling friends and family, I’m using this last week of the year to treat myself to a few items on my wishlist. The best thing about this time of year is that many of my favorite brands are still running steep sales. So, to avoid getting shopping fatigue sifting through a range of sites looking for the best deals, I’ll be focusing my efforts at Nordstrom — and what better time to do so than during the retailer's coveted Half-Yearly Sale. The retailer has all my favorite brands in one place, and I can shop for deep discounts on fashion, beauty, and accessories.

I have set aside $350 to shop with during the sale, and I managed to round up seven fashion and beauty items from my wishlist that hit a few dollars short of that number. Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick

Tom Ford’s Traceless Foundation Stick has been on my wishlist for a while now, and now that it’s 50 percent off, I finally have an excuse to add one to my cart. I’m always in the market for products that can simplify my makeup routine, and this stick foundation would allow me to conceal my dark spots and even my complexion without the mess you usually get from a liquid foundation.

It comes in 13 shades ranging from fair to deep, with a creamy formulation and a soft matte finish that offers buildable coverage. There's also a twist-up design that makes it easy to swipe across the skin for seamless full-coverage application or spot-correcting.

Topshop Funnel-Neck Rib Sweater

During one of my previous Nordstrom hauls, I picked up Topshop’s Funnel-Neck Rib Sweater. It’s warm and cozy, and every time I wear it, I get tons of compliments on its eye-catching green shade. And now that the black version is on sale for 35 percent off in Nordstrom's Half-Yearly Sale, I plan to add one more to my collection for simplified everyday styling. It’s available in sizes XS through large, and the fabric is incredibly stretchy, making it easy to get over the head. It has an oversized fit that fully covers the butt, slouchy balloon sleeves with an exaggerated drop-shoulder, and a classic funnel neck that gives that extra bit of warmth on chilly days.

Reformation Daria High-Waist Denim Maxi Skirt

One of my favorite pieces to style this season has been maxi skirts, and more specifically, maxi denim skirts. If you’d had asked me five years ago if I’d choose to put on a maxi denim skirt, I’d have thought you were joking, but like many other things in the trend cycle, I have been influenced. So when I saw this Reformation Daria High-Waist Denim Maxi Skirt on sale for 40 percent off and fully in stock, I immediately added it to my cart.

The denim maxi comes in a classic black wash in sizes 24 through 29. It features a  high-waisted design with a button and zipper closure, a bit of stretch throughout to hug the figure, and two front and back pockets. The length falls a few inches above the ankle, and the exaggerated back slit that's both sexy and practical, so the skirt is easy to walk in while also showing a little leg.
