Beyoncé Debuts Sun-Washed Hair for the Renaissance Tour

Beyoncé's highly anticipated Renaissance tour has finally kicked off — insert "praise be" emoji here — and while we're stalking TikTok for all the concert content out there, a few things are standing out. Other than instilling the obvious FOMO, the singer debuted a new hair color that we're predicting will take over summer 2023: sun-washed hair.

Created and coined by her go-to colorist, Rita Hazan, this bronde shade is fun and bright — and makes for a striking look that's perfect for the spotlight. "It’s lighter and brighter in certain areas, and has a lot of dimension," Hazan tells InStyle. In other words, there are darker, light brown, and dark blonde colors woven throughout, which, Hazan says, helps "the blonde pop." 

This isn't Beyoncé's first time dabbling in blonde; in fact, she's been wearing a deep honey shade leading up to the tour. But, Hazan says, the singer wanted to really make a statement with a new hair color. "I love when she is blonde on stage, with all the lights, huge stage, and visuals," she says. "I wanted her to have a huge presence on stage."

If you want to replicate the look, good news: It's easier than getting a ticket to the Renaissance tour. Hazan recommends asking your colorist to lighten your base color by two to three shades. Then, ask them to customize the placement of the highlights to get that dimension, placing them throughout based on your texture and cut.
