Kristen Wiig is a married woman.
During an interview with Howard Stern on his SiriusXM, radio show, Wiig revealed she and her fiancé actor Avi Rothman are now married by referring to him as her "husband."
"Besides the fact that we are where we are, it's hard not to feel so much of the the s–t and struggle that's going on," the Saturday Night Live alum told Stern. "In my home I'm very lucky about having these two babies and my husband. And they make it all better — and it's changed my life."
She revealed to Stern that she and Rothman exchanged vows privately and are now married. The Bridesmaids actress also revealed that juggling work and motherhood has been a bit of a challenge.
"Right now I'm not going to an actual set, but because of all this stuff I'm not as present as I would like to be and it's really hard," she said."I'm convinced they're going to forget who I am if I'm gone for a day. I have looked at my children and said 'I am your mother!'"
Wiig and Rothman welcomed the twins in early 2020 via surrogate. She hinted at becoming a mother during SNL's virtual Mother's Day episode, which she hosted.
During Thursday's appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, she again referred to Rothman as her "husband," and she also detailed a moment once before they were engaged when she thought he was going to propose in Patagonia.
"I actually thought that he was going to propose to me because the guide was always with us, and this time he's like 'why don't you go on this hike, just the two of you? I'll give you my walkie talkie, it'll be fine,'" she explained. She was convinced this was her now-husband's ruse to propose — until they came face to face with a puma.
"We're walking down this path and I see this head pop out of the grass and I'm like, 'Oh it's a large puma, like a very large puma," she recalled. "We could scream and no one would hear us. We were told that if you see a puma clap your hands, make a noise, don't run, don't turn around."
Needless to say, this wasn't the moment of her actual engagement.
