Eva Longoria is kicking off award season with a whole new hairstyle. On Friday, the actress stepped out at the La Cena event in Los Angeles, celebrating Latino creatives in film and television, and swapped out her super-long ponytail from the night before for a shoulder-length shag and curtain bangs.
But before you completely freak out, Eva didn't actually chop off her hair. On the red carpet, she admitted to People that "it's just a wig." She added, “It's not even my hair, but isn't it great? Let me tell you, it's award season — people are stepping it up.” While it may not be permanent, Eva's wig was still styled to perfection by hair guru Dimitris Giannetos, who added choppy layers and left her waves natural and wet.
The end result? Jennifer Beals-inspired hair from the '80s film Flashdance. “I wasn't going for it, but that's what turned out,” Longoria said.
Eva teamed her temporary chop with an equally jaw-dropping outfit. For the occasion, she wore a black one-shouldered gown that featured a single sheer sleeve on one side and a hip-high slit on the other. A pair of strappy black sandals and a collection of delicate diamond rings on each hand accessorized her look, while her glam consisted of a smoky eye, a nude lip, and a bronzy glow.
With award season technically not even here yet, time will only tell what other tricks Eva has up her sleeve.
