I’m pushing 30 and my skin is in a stage of perplexing metamorphosis; It’s oily but increasingly dry, a little bit blemish-prone, reactive, somewhat sensitive, and deflated relative to the cherubic baby face of my early 20s. Plus, I have some faint lines that could potentially turn into wrinkles. There is a surprising lack of products for the in-between young and mature stage but InnBeauty Project’s filling the void, and incredibly well, with its new Extreme Cream Firming and Lifting Moisturizer.
I was especially careful about testing this moisturizer. I did not change a single part of the skincare routine I’ve been using for months so that I could really tell if and what difference this made. I ‘ve liked moisturizers before but rarely, perhaps never, have I been in awe of the transformative benefits of one. Extreme Cream is a moisturizer that does more. Yes, it’s hydrating but it also adds plumpness back to my face, prevents the faint lines from becoming wrinkles, gently fades hyperpigmentation, and makes me look radiant.
The texture is pretty thick and rich — which my dry skin needs badly — but usually cannot handle because of the aforementioned oiliness. But this absorbs quickly, never pills, and does not make my face oily. My skin does not get irritated, inflamed, or breakout either.
The moisturizer does not clash with my various skin woes because of a smart formula that is sensitive- and oily-skin safe. Infamously-irritating retinol is replaced with a naturally-derived alternative that is absolutely innocuous; I would have completely forgotten about it if it wasn’t for the improved hyperpigmentation and decongestion of my complexion. The formula also includes ingredients that are synonymous with plump, full, ageless skin — peptides and ceramides. Peptides heal and strengthen the skin barrier with a dose of plumping and elasticity-boosting goodness. Ceramides, meanwhile, seal it all in while keeping all the bad stuff (pollution, sun damage, etc.) out.
Head to InnBeauty Project and Sephora to shop Extreme Cream, the most transformative moisturizer I’ve ever tried.
