Irina Shayk and Bradley Cooper are famously friendly exes and grade-A co-parents (see: their Italian family getaway or Shayk's ultimate wingwoman status). In a new interview with Elle, the model revealed how they maintain such a successful relationship — and it's a lot simpler than you'd think. The key? "We make it work."
“We always find a way,” she told the publication. “He’s the best father Lea and I could dream of. It always works, but it always works because we make it work.”
It doesn't hurt that they have similarly traditional upbringings and value the same things when it comes to their 6-year-old daughter. And for Lea, that means tagging along to her mother's high-fashion modeling gigs. (Nice work if you can get it!)
“We both take Lea everywhere with us,” Shayk explained. “She’s super easy. Two days ago, I had to go to the gym, so I just got her a drawing book and said, ‘Mama’s working out.’ She was drawing for an hour. Then we went to the Michael Kors fitting. She met all the girls. Michael gave her a bag. She drew him a kitty cat.”
When it comes to her and Cooper's relationship or dating in general, Shayk said that the media loves to sensationalize the facts. She told Elle that she hasn't even met half the people she's reported to be dating at any given time.
“Nobody wants to write something that is truthful. Sometimes, I want to be like, ‘Fuck you. It’s absolutely not true.' [...] Half of the people who they say I’m dating, I’ve never even met them in my life!" she said. "These people who are literally evil or have nothing to do, sitting there and writing some bullshit and getting away with it. There should be some kind of punishment."
When asked about the recent romance rumors with Tom Brady, Shayk stayed tight-lipped, saying, "No comment," through a smile. Last month, however, Page Six reported that their fling had fizzled out.
