Love don’t cost a thing (did ya catch the song reference?), but Jennifer Lopez’s wardrobe sure does. She’s been known to don luxury goods such as $43,500 bags, $7,298 dresses, and $1,010 sunglasses. But sometimes, the singer surprises us by wearing relatively affordable fashion finds, like this $76 crescent purse and this $40 basic white tank — and she just did it again by stepping out in a totally comfortable fall-approved ‘fit.
Early last week, Lopez spent a day in Malibu wearing a laid-back two-piece set from Free People that cost $156 in total. I repeat, in total. That’s major, especially when you consider her track record of high-end buys. But even better are the pieces’ versatility and wearability, meaning you’ll get maximum bang for your buck.
We the Free Camden Sweatshirt
Lopez opted for Free People’s cozy We the Free Camden Sweatshirt, which retails for $78. She wore a sage green color that the brand no longer appears to sell, though shoppers can choose from 18 other hues. I’m hands-down going to be adding more than one to my cart; the olive green looks great against blue jeans, while the chocolate brown pairs well with oat-colored socks, and the heather gray is the perfect contrast against black leggings.
But the wide array of color options is only the beginning. The Lopez-worn sweatshirt features an effortlessly roomy fit, crew neckline, exposed stitching, oversized shoulders, and split hems at the cuffs. Even more notable, though, is the feel of the pullover. One shopper said it’s “way softer” than she imagined, and has “genuinely not taken [the sweater] off since it arrived a couple of weeks ago,” but only to “wash, wear and repeat.” Many shoppers suggest sizing down if you don’t want an overly huge fit.
To the Sky Parachute Pants
You can’t snag Lopez’s sweater without also securing her To the Sky Parachute Pants. Intricate features only enhance the overall parachute style, like a ruched waistband that sits low on the hips, slightly tapered pant openings, and — my favorite — side pockets for storing all of your small belongings. Plus, you can coordinate your pants to your chosen sweatshirt with the help of nine color options, such as classic black, misty green, and ginger brown.
Not only do they nod to the hot celebrity style choices of Hailey Bieber, Selena Gomez, and Katie Holmes, but they’re also so easy to wear. You can dress them up or down depending on your fashion goals with a quick change of shoe or added jacket. They can also be worn to a wide variety of occasions, making them your new go-to bottoms.
“I love these pants,” said a reviewer. “I wear them almost every other day.” She continued by saying they’re “super versatile, comfortable, [and] durable.” Honestly, I get the hype.
Lopez just paved the way for the ideal cozy fall set, and let’s just say I’m adding a few colorways of both the snuggly pullover and parachute pants to my cart. If you can’t wait to do the same, I suggest doing so before the J.Lo effect wipes each piece off of the virtual shelves. Shop more colors, below.
