Get you a girl who can do both: Not only is Jessica Chastain an Oscar-winning movie star, but the actress has also taken several successful turns on the small screen. Most recently, Chastain portrayed famous country singer Tammy Wynette in Showtime's George & Tammy, for which she is nominated tonight in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category at the 2023 Emmy Awards.
The star has the range on the red carpet, as well. Exhibit A? The fashion aficionado showed up to the 2023 Met Gala in a sexy tulle gown and platinum blonde hair and then stunned in a Beauty and the Beast-inspired gown and cape just a month later. Tonight, she chose a fringed Gucci gown in a color that was so bright, we all needed to get our sunglasses out to take it in.
The dress featured a plunging deep-V neckline and a simple column silhouette, and then embellished by long beaded fringe details at the hem. With a color that veered into tennis ball or office-ready highlighter territory, the sleek and stealthy shape let the bold shade shine. She finished the look with a green gemstone ring and matching earrings.
Last May, Chastain attended the George & Tammy Emmys FYC (for your consideration) event, where she looked sleek as always in a brown power suit and purple blouse. Ultimately, the party was successful, because the series is up for three other awards tonight.
This is Chastain's first Emmy nomination, and if she takes home the trophy tonight, she'll be half way to an EGOT. She got the O in 2022 when she won the Oscar for The Eyes of Tammy Faye. She was also up for a Tony Award last year for her role in the play A Doll's House, however, she did not end up taking any awards home.
