Kate Middleton and Prince William are continuing their tour of Scotland, where their days have been filled with royal appointments, posh country garb, and now, thanks to a super-sweet kid, a look into how the Duchess of Cambridge (who goes by the Duchess of Rothesay when she's on Scottish soil) refers to herself.
In a video shared by user RoyallyBelle_ on X, the social media platform we all still refer to as Twitter, Kate can be seen giving a somewhat surprising answer when a curious child asks her a question. It all went down at Burghead Primary School, where Kate and William had a royal visit with teachers and students.
“I really like your school," Kate said before one of the attendees asked her who she was.
"Who am I? I'm married to William,” she said as she pointed to her left, where presumably, William was off-screen. “I know! It was very nice to meet all of you."
It's just one more example of Kate letting her husband take the spotlight.
"She’s never trying to outshine him in any way," royal biographer Penny Junor previously told People of Kate's attitude towards her place in the royal family, which Junor compared to another beloved royal duo. "I think that Kate is a bit like Prince Philip supporting the queen. She doesn’t outshine William, but still has a lot to say herself."
An additional source added that Kate "is the sort of woman who will take on whatever she needs to. If she needs to step up to the plate, she does it — and she always has. She and William are a formidable team."
People adds that it does go both ways, with William letting Kate shine when they're at events where she's the patron, or if a specific charity or organization is especially important to her.
