With fall officially just days away, now is a good of time as ever to start pulling out your transitional outerwear — we're talking jean jackets, trench coats, leather bombers, and, of course, the beloved blazer.
One person who apparently got the memo this morning was devoted blazer fanatic, Kate Middleton. Kicking her week off on a style high note, the Princess of Wales wore the perfect outfit for when the weather is still caught between summer and fall. For a visit to the Royal Naval Air Station (RNAS) Yeovilton in Somerset, Kate made her debut as the Commodore-in-Chief of the Fleet Air Arm while wearing a classic black double-breasted blazer decorated with gold buttons. She paired the military-inspired jacket with coordinating tailored trousers that were cinched at the waist with a black leather belt, as well as a white top underneath.
Kate accessorized with white topaz drop earrings, black Gianvito Rossi pointed-toe pumps, and a gold aviation pin on the lapel of her jacket. Her brunette hair was worn down in loose waves with a center part and her forehead-grazing fringe pushed to the sides, while the royal's glam included a classic combination of a smoky eye and pink lip.
During her engagement at the airbase, Kate toured the Air Traffic Control tower, before she was shown around a Merlin MK4 helicopter and headed to a hangar for a few safety training exercises — including inflating an emergency life jacket.
