Royal fans have been in the depths of a Kate Middleton fashion drought thanks to her taking some very deserved time off from her royal duties, but the Princess of Wales is back at work and giving everyone some very relatable outfit inspiration with her latest royal appointment. Catherine, who was spending some time with her children the last few weeks during a school holiday, paid a visit to the "Dadvengers," a group of fathers in Arnos Grove, London, to hear how the organization helps dads as they navigate fatherhood. They also participate in "Dad Walks," People notes, to build community and give everyone a chance to talk and share stories in a more casual setting than a sit-down meeting.
For her first public outing in two weeks, Kate wore an outfit that brought together French girl fashion staples, like a white-and-navy striped marinière-style sweater and straight-leg jeans. She topped it all off with the ultimate staple, a wear-with-everything khaki jacket, and finished the look with a pair of lug-soled boots. The combo is so easy and classic that you probably have everything you need to copy the look in your closet right now. Kate's bangs were also present and accounted for, and she was also in her usual go-to glam, which was light and natural.
Kate joined the group on a Dad Walk and even took some time to speak to some of the kids that came along.
"I love your stripy tights," Kate said to 3-year-old Maya Sanmuganathan, according to Hello! "I should have worn my stripy tights."
Kate also commended the group for building a community to help one another and loved that they were working together.
"I think the thing is raising the importance of family time and the role dads are playing in raising kids," she said, according to the magazine. "Through what you guys are doing, the kids are seeing the importance of socializing and getting together."
Nigel Clarke, the founder of Dadvengers (he also works on the BBC’s CBeebies channel), explained why the group is vital to the community and how it helps families.
"Fathers have a hugely significant role to play in their children’s lives, right from the start. Even before their baby is born, fathers can get involved and Dadvengers is on a mission to support them to do that in ways that work for them," he shared. "We provide them with information and advice to help look after their own well-being, while also supporting them to build the nurturing relationships and surroundings we know are so important in the very earliest years of their children’s lives. It's what Dadvengers is all about."
