When coloring Barbie's (a.k.a. Margot Robbie) hair, expert celebrity hair colorist Jacob Schwartz had two options: Go for the exact bleached blonde the iconic doll is known for, or put a more unique twist to it. Lucky for us, he went for option number two — and we are here for it.

"I created an elevated version of blonde for Margot for the premiere and the Barbie press tour," says Schwartz. "It was more inspired by Barbie but not an exact replica of the doll's hair."

Robbie's Barbie blonde is dimensional, with shades of gold woven throughout (a.k.a. #spunwithgold) to give her hair more depth for a more natural look. First, Schwartz used the Schwarzkopf BLONDME All Blondes Rich Shampoo and Conditioner. He says a great tip for colorists (or anyone looking to dye their hair at home) is to remove metal ions from hair before lightening it for best color results.

"[It] is why I only trust BLONDME; it has Anti-Metal (the chelating agent) inside it to reduce damaging radicals and protects the hair from breaking," he says. "Metal buildup in hair is common and happens when metals like copper, iron, magnesium, and calcium accumulate in the hair over time — often found in our tap water. This leads to hair feeling dry, brittle, and difficult to manage." He adds that the shampoo and conditioner help prevent breakage and stabilize hair structure to deliver long-lasting strength and shine.

He then used the Schwarzkopf BLONDME Bleach to get that rich, dimensional shade. He explains that it contains bonding inside to keep hair strong for any styling she gets done. For the premiere itself, celebrity stylist Bryce Scarlett went for a '60s-inspired ponytail to match her custom Schiaparelli gown, using Tangle Teezer and Redken products. The end result is the Barbie doll of our dreams, making us even more excited for the film when it comes out later this month (if that's possible).
