While Halloween only wrapped up mere hours ago (Heidi Klum may very well still be in her peacock costume), Mariah Carey wasted no time declaring the official start of the holiday season promptly on November 1, as is her right.
Continuing her annual tradition of kicking off the most wonderful time of the year with a hilarious social media clip, Carey shared this year’s rendition on her Instagram account early Wednesday morning. In the video, the singer can be seen frozen in a block of ice as a clock switches from “October 31, 11:59” to “November 1, 12:00.” From there, a group of costume-clad ghouls is shown working tirelessly to defrost the Queen of Christmas, who’s sporting a Santa-red catsuit complete with fluffy white trim, before she decides to help them out by singing her signature, “It’s time!”
Naturally, Mariah’s Christmas classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You” begins to play, prompting a group of festive merrymakers — including her 12-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monore, whom she shares with ex Nick Cannon — to join her in dancing underneath falling snow.
“It’s…… TIME!!! 🎃🧊🎄 #MariahSZN,” Carey captioned her festive post.
The pop star’s announcement comes shortly after she talked about all things Christmas with InStyle last month, where she opened up about her favorite holiday memories.
“Each holiday season is special and unique to me, but my fondest memory would have to be Roc and Roe’s first Christmas,” she shared. “To see them grow each year and embrace the spirit of the holiday season is the gift that keeps on giving. Seeing the joy in their eyes on every Christmas morning is a memory I will never forget.
