Megan Fox is getting candid about experiencing pregnancy loss for the first time. In her new book of poetry, Pretty Boys Are Poisonous (out now), the actress details a heartbreaking miscarriage that she and her fiancé, Machine Gun Kelly, faced together earlier in their relationship.
“There is an ultrasound by your side of the bed, 10 weeks and 1 day … do you think that if she could have, she would have left a suicide note?” Fox wrote in one poem, per Page Six.
“But now I have to say goodbye. I close my eyes and imagine holding you tight against my chest as they rip you from my insides,” she continued, adding, “I will pay any price, tell me please, what is the ransom for her soul?”
While Fox and Kelly (born Colson Baker) had yet to confirm or deny reports of a miscarriage prior to the book’s release, the mother of three opened up about the experience in further detail when appearing on Good Morning America in promotion of the book on Tuesday.
“I had never been through anything like that before in my life. I have three kids, so it was very difficult for both of us," Fox shared, referencing the three children she shares with ex-husband Brian Austin Green. " And it sent us on a very wild journey together and separately, and together and apart, and together and apart, and together and apart, trying to navigate, 'What does this mean? Why did this happen?'”
Megan’s insights about the miscarriage come over a year and a half after Kelly first hinted at the excruciating experience when performing his song “Twin Flame” at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards.
“I wrote this song for my wife … this is for our unborn child,” he said at the time.
