Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Relationship With King Charles Has "More Warmth" Than People Would Expect

Not a day goes by without some secret, hush-hush reveal from behind the gilded gates of Buckingham Palace. Are Prince Harry and his brother reconciling? All clues point to no. Was Kate Middleton ever going to be friends with her sister-in-law? It depends on who you ask. And now, as many royal fans wonder how things are between Harry and his father, King Charles, biographer Omid Scobie dropped a bombshell: they're actually closer than people would expect, especially with the publication of Harry's memoir, Spare, and the Sussexes moving out of the United Kingdom to raise their children in California.

"There is more warmth between Harry and Meghan and Charles than other family members," Scobie said while promoting his new book, Endgame. "And that has grown since they've left the country. It's taken a long time to get there."

Scobie's statement to Entertainment Tonight comes after sources close to the royals told the publication that "no one in the family trusts Harry anymore" after his book and his Netflix docu-series, Harry & Meghan. However, Scobie revealed that Harry has been making an effort to maintain a relationship with his father. 

"It was often Harry that had to kind of reach out and make that first step," Scobie added. "While sources close to Harry say that he understands that his father is never going to want to address many of the things that they experienced and went through, and some of the things that their own family were responsible for, he doesn't want to be completely disconnected from his father." 

And it's not just Harry. Meghan is making an effort too, according to Scobie. Previous reports stated that Meghan was "sending photos and videos of the children to Charles via one of the aides" to commemorate the king's birthday. The communication, Scobie says, "shows that there is hope there perhaps for the future at least between those two."
