Sofía Vergara Works Out So She Can Eat Cake: "My Workout Motto Is 'No Pain, No Cake!'"

There are lots of reasons that we hit the gym: Staying healthy, looking toned, or working off an indulgence are just a few. But for Modern Family’s Sofía Vergara, giving into a delicious temptation isn’t what prompts her workout—it’s her reward! The 44-year-old Colombian beauty said that cake is her forever vice.

“My biggest temptation, the thing I can’t live without, for sure, is cake. I always have to have cake in my house. I try to only eat it from Friday to Sunday, but, of course, that doesn’t always work…” she says in a new video for her fragrance, Tempting by Sofia Vergara.

“I love cakes. I love pies too. I love these because it’s not really a cake, it’s like a merengue, but it looks like a cake so I like it. Of course, who doesn’t like chocolate cake. I literally work out just so I can give into the temptation and eat the cake. My workout motto is ‘No pain, no cake!’” she says hilariously.

This actress doesn’t just talk the talk: Her Instagram proves that she’s totally serious about her sweet tooth. In a hilarious photo (above), Vergara cuddles up to a “tempting” birthday cake from co-star Eric Stonestreet.

In another from the Fourth of July, the actress smiles innocently as she is caught digging a knife into a picturesque flag cake.

And who can forget when Vergara showed off her Game of Thrones fandom (and her obsession with dessert) with this “Valar Morghulis” cake.
