Taylor Swift Hides Face With a Big Ol' Fan So No One Can Read Her Lips at the Grammys

The internet became feral during the 2024 Golden Globes when Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were caught in what appeared to be a juicy gossip exchange. Memes abounded! For the Grammys, Tay Tay came prepared to prevent any repeat performances during this show. To conceal her lips whenever the camera's could be watching, Swift used a big, dramatic fan to cover her mouth.

The fan first made an appearance while Swift made her way to her seat during Trevor Noah's opening remarks. She brought it out while chatting with friend and music collaborator Jack Antonoff during Miley Cyrus' acceptance speech for best pop solo performance, an award Swift was also up for (which meant the cameras were almost guaranteed to pan to her!).

During the Globes, fans went full detective mode trying to figure out what Swift and Gomez were talking about. The running rumor was that Gomez told Swift and pal Keleigh Sperry that Kylie Jenner shut down her request for a pic with Timothée Chalamet. The next day, Gomez set the record straight. When E! News posted about the moment on Instagram, Gomez commented "I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up. Not that that's anyone business."

Swift clearly has no interest in a repeat of this intense speculation and is keeping her conversations cloaked.
