Have you ever put on an outfit and felt like it’s just not it? Same. I happen to deal with this particular scenario (err, feeling?) all the time, especially come fall, but the good thing about the chilly season is that you can cover it all up with a really great coat. Sure, sometimes you’re wearing a look that you want everyone to see — and in that case, a coat can be an annoying addition — but other times, the topper can actually make an outfit. In fact, I’ve fallen back on one particular style nonstop this time of year as I think it makes every ensemble look more expensive. Even Amal Clooney has recently worn it, which means that, well, you need it, too.

Clooney layered a beige, double-breasted trench coat over her green midi dress.
