Kate Middleton Added a Surprising ‘70s Twist to One of Her Go-To Fall Uniforms

Kate Middleton is no stranger to a matching pantsuit set (whether a deep navy, optic white, or fiery red), but she just stepped out in an elevated take on her go-to silhouette that featured one surprising detail: a bit of (literal) ‘70s flair.

On Tuesday, the Princess of Wales made an appearance in east London to visit the Streets of Growth charity, which works to transform the lives of young people. For the occasion, Middleton sported a sharp khaki blazer and matching high-waisted trousers — complete with dramatic, bell-shape flared hems — paired with a simple white scoop neck undershirt. The royal rounded out her look by adding a pair of coordinating beige pointy-toe heels (which could barely be seen underneath the wide legs of her pants) and, of course, her impressive wedding ring.

The ‘70s vibes didn’t stop at Kate’s pants, however — the former duchess also wore her brunette hair down in tight curls while sporting the era’s signature middle part and curtain bangs. She finished her glam by adding a pink lip, feathered lashes, and bold brows.

While Middleton was busy running around London, her husband, Prince William, had an equally packed schedule in New York City. Although the princess accompanied William during his last visit to the States last November, there was an incredibly relatable reason as to why she decided to stay back during this trip: According to People, she had to watch their kids.

"It's a massive balancing act," a royal insider previously told the publication of the Cambridges' approach to parenting, which also includes making sure that Prince George, the future heir to the throne, has a normal upbringing. “William and Kate are doing the right thing, protecting him so he can have as normal a childhood as possible, but he's also dipping into duties as a future monarch.”
