Kate Middleton is gearing up for this year’s holiday celebrations by sharing a gift with the masses: a throwback Christmas photo where she looks just like her son, Prince Louis.
On Monday, the Princess of Wales spread some Christmas cheer by delving into her archives to reveal a never-before-seen family photo from 1983. In the snap, an almost 2-year-old Kate was pictured sitting at a Christmas dinner table — just weeks before her second birthday — while wearing a navy blue cardigan layered over a multi-colored collared shirt. The now-royal accessorized with a beaded necklace, and she sported an adorable curly hairdo.
While royal fans loved getting a glimpse at a baby Kate Middleton in the snap, they also couldn’t help but notice the resemblance between the princess and her youngest son, 5-year-old Prince Louis. “Copy and pasted Little Louis 😍,” one Instagram user commented, with another adding, “It's the necklace for me😂😂😂. Louis is definitely mini-mommy. Merry Christmas to the Wales.”
Kate shared the throwback on her and Prince William’s shared Instagram account to raise awareness for her Shaping Us campaign, which addresses and advocates for the needs of children in their first five years of life.
“Sharing some festive memories this Christmas because #ShapingUs is all about the vital importance of our early years and the role played by those around us in shaping the rest of our lives,” the post’s caption read. “📸 of The Princess, Christmas 1983.”
The post also shouted out the campaign’s annual Christmas carol concert, which took place at Westminster Abbey earlier this month and will air on ITV on Christmas Eve, adding, “Don’t miss the Together at Christmas Carol Service with @earlychildhood this Christmas Eve at 7:45pm on @ITV.”
