With 2023 in the rear-view mirror, Kate Middleton and her husband, Prince William, gave royal fans a quick recap of the year with a year-end roundup. And while even the most devoted royal followers will recognize many of the big moments from 2023, which included King Charles's historic coronation, Kate and William's video gave a behind-the-scenes look at what went into that big day — and so much more.
The royal recap included photos of the Prince and Princes of Wales prepping for the coronation with their children: Prince George, 10; Princess Charlotte, 8; and Prince Louis, 5. The video shows the whole family walking up a flight of stairs before the pomp and circumstance of Charles's coronation. The clip opened with the words: “This was 2023" and included music from Harry Styles’s “As It Was."
"Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our year," read the caption that accompanied the video. The montage also included looks at the 2023 Royal Ascot in June and the flypast for Charles's coronation in Scotland in July. Of course, the whole family got the spotlight with clips from the Royal Carols: Together at Christmas concert at Westminster Abbey.
2023 wasn't just major for Charles. The year marked Kate and William officially using the Prince and Princess of Wales titles. George also had a big year, especially as he served as a Page of Honor for his grandfather and George's brother, Louis, started to attend more events, including the family's Christmas walk at Sandringham and the aforementioned Christmas concert. As for Charlotte, she managed to become a TikTok star when a compilation of her most fabulous moments became a viral hit on the platform.
