Pamela Anderson "Didn't Think Anyone Would Notice" She Stopped Wearing Makeup

Last year, while we were all taking in the latest collections during Paris Fashion Week, Pamela Anderson thought she could fly under the radar and arrive at shows like Victoria Beckham and, later, big events like the 2023 Fashion Awards with no makeup on. Now, in a new interview with Allure, she explains that she wasn't trying to make a huge statement with her bare face — and she really thought that nobody would even see that she'd skipped out on her glam.

“I didn’t think anyone was going to notice," she said. "I just thought, I’m not competing with all these beautiful people."

She went on to say (with her signature sarcasm and humor) that she felt like a "monster" but also very "lucky" to be surrounded by the artistry that comes with a fashion show.

"I felt like the monster, like a little kid in all these beautiful clothes, and how lucky am I?, and I wanted to appreciate it from that point of view," she added.

Anderson added that the pared-down beauty vibe was something that she did for herself and not to make a larger "political statement" about anything or anyone.

At fashion week, I did that for myself,' she explained. "It wasn’t to make a political statement, I just wanted to have my little weird face sticking out of the top of those great clothes … why am I playing the game?”

The clean face was a stark contrast to the Pam that fans were used to, previously preferring bombshell blonde hair, the perfect smoky eye, and flawless skin. She added that she feels even sexier with no makeup on than when she's all done-up, which may come as a surprise to anyone who kept up with her looks post-Baywatch.

“Actually, it was kind of overwhelming, as a Playboy centerfold or Bunny, people had expectations," she said of her ultra-glam past. "I feel much more sensual in my own skin [...] it’s much more intimate and vulnerable [...] kind of like this is how your boyfriend sees you, without makeup. It’s almost sexier, I think.”
